The Netherlands (KNVB) Home Shirt

Of course im always a Spanish fan, but too bad their shirt/jersey design still couldn't impress me. Other than the previous England and recent France design, the Netherlands shirt stay the longest time on top of my favourites national shirt chart! hahah.. So, I supposed to share this earlier, but im like bit lazy to compile all pictures from my archive. Till I found this lately... (click to enlarge)

and the result...

If you go through the link, the selection from the poll are within the recent 20 years (1988-2008). And I have add in one of the best from their history. The classic 1974 shirt worn by the living legend - Johan Cruyff at the 70's where the birth of 'Total Football'. It is like the most representing dutch design before every other shirts you saw today.

Continue with my 2nd pick. The 1988 shirt, what I called a cutting edge design, truly represent the 80's. And it's also the winning jersey of their only champion title from a big tournament. It all happen together with the superb 'Dutch Trio'.

Finally, this is what my favourites or vote goes to, the 2008 shirt! Beside that, their total look are also the best to me. Orange+White+Sky Blue, so 'harmoniously contrast'! lol~ and full of modern dutch character!

2 years back, still topping my chart of dutch design, please forget the latest 2010 design, totally in different class. Luckily found and grabbed this 2008 shirt last year, with an off-season price! Heart it!! gegee...

The story of why I love it so much... Go first with the cutting, or modern construction? A v-neck football shirt always caught my eyes first. And the Red White Blue combination on the right collar are the flag of Netherlands. Cleverly placed! Follow up with details, details, details...

The 2 sentences are part of their National Anthem. A patriotic element that a national shirt needs.

The super fine embroidery emblem and the simplify modern crowned lion. Specially love the short form letters; KNVB (Koninklijke Nederlandse Voetbalbond) the most, such a pretty typo combination.

Back of the neck, spelling in dutch. Noticed the nicely symmetric joining angle of the flag.

Im happy with all these design and the Dri-FIT material, credits goes to NIKE Football!

And thxx for reading my long... post. LOL~

New Year Countdown

New year celebration is always a big thing in Ang Moh country. And Sydney always try to top themselves every year. Since this is the first time I did not go back to Malaysia, I decided to join the crowds to see the New year fireworks. Thanks to my friends in the photos below, we have gotten one of the best spots in North Sydney.

They have waited there since 2pm in the afternoon. But with friends, beer, food, big umbrella and a spectacular view as below, 10 hours to midnight was easy.

Of course I shouldn't say so much because I arrive at that place at 11.45pm. Smart or not? Hehe. We have the biggest group there, around 35 Malaysians. There were a total of 5 spots in Sydney where the fireworks were on. However to get the best view of all 5, we went to the 'tanjung' opposite the famous Harbor Bridge. One of the best view in my opinion. The firework lasted around 20 minutes I think. All my Tax money wasted on this. But I think it is worth it. Check out the video guys.

Delta

Seeing that Chin Ding is playing badminton right now and I am home alone, I thought I should do my annual blog post. As you know I just bought a place. So finally I told myself I can buy a nice lounge with Chaise with I always love. My budget was initially around $2k until I was introduce to this place, King Furniture (http://www.kingfurniture.com.au/).

I think they only exist in Australia but their design of furniture are very innovative. They aim at Convenience and give their owner a chance to be creative with their furniture. Most of their couches has the option of adding on other functions in the future. Anyway this is what I have gotten.

Looks simple right? But hold on, check out what other design it can transform to.

It has a hook mechanism for you to recreate a typical lounge into different ways to fit your house. Most importantly it can be converted into a queen size bed. Hold on, that is not all it can do.

It has storage space as well~!!! This really helps me a lot coz if you seen my Malaysia's room before you know I have a lot of Sampah in the house. And the new place's living room isn't very big. So it serves my purpose a lot. Oh by the way, the couch is also very comfortable. Check out their Jasper range and Kato deluxe. They are considered more premium as they are feather filled couch which is super super comfy. I actually want the Kao deluxe but it is too big. Here is a video of Kato (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywAR5v_Psmc&feature=player_detailpage)

So the next time whoever that comes over, please meet your bed.

TESCO fruit juice

Saw this during CNY shopping in TESCO, think they are origin from their UK store. Kinda eye catchy to me, make me wanna buy it than taste it at the split second. I guess a good packaging design does play its role, just that simple. Will cheer me up whenever i opened my fridge that fills with these box juices! ;-)

Hmm.. another DIY post! I just can't stop it when silly ideas mess up with my mind, lets make it out! So sketches come first...

Is a PEN? No is a tool

Lately I'm trying to find a tool for my team mates which is very handy and can bring it over for onsite support whenever they require. However, it must meet all my requirements that listed below:

  1. Able to handle frearson and slot types screw
  2. Able to unfasten screw's size in desktop PCs and laptops
  3. pocket size tool and easy to carry
  4. must cool and geeky enough

and I found this one from a hardware shop.

IMG_0825

4 in 1 pen size tool that can handle frearson and slot screw for desktop and laptop just only RM10.90. Expensive? for me it worth for me to spend on it.

Other side information which I found very interesting. Screw types.

Happy Valentine

I want to share an article (forwarded email) which I read it last two years ago and I think it would be a best timing to share it for this valentine because it is a great article for all the love couples whether is already married or not yet married to read.

Is a very long article, but it definitely worth the time for you to spend on it.

Lastly, wish all of you living happily ever after with your love's one.

WhyDidIGetMarried

QUOTE ' DO NOT LOOK BACK AND ASK WHY, LOOK FORWARD AND ASK WHY NOT'

A very valuable lesson to learn ...

Interesting quote from the movie 'Why did I get married?'
In most cases, especially in relationships, you will only get 80% of what you NEED and you will hardly get the other 20% that you WANT in your relationship. There is always another person (man or women) that you will meet and that will offer you the other 20% which is lacking in your relationship that you WANT And believe me, 20% looks really good when you are not getting it at all in your current relationship.
But the problem is that you will always be tempted to leave that good 80% that you know you have, thinking that you will get something better with the other 20% that you WANT
But as reality has proven, in most cases, you will always end up with having the 20% that you WANT and loosing the 80% that you really NEED and that you already had.
Be careful in deciding between what you WANT and NEED in your life.

Adultery happens when you start looking for what you don't have. 'Wow, this girl in my office is a real looker. But it's not her Wynona Rider features that got me. I'm crazy about her because she's also understanding, intelligent, tender - so many things that my spouse is not'

Somewhere along the way, you'll find a woman or a man who will be more charming or sensitive. More alluring. More thoughtful. Richer. Have greater sex appeal. And you will find a woman or man who will need you and pursue you and go loco over you more than your spouse ever did.

Because no wife or husband is perfect. Because a spouse will only have 80% of what you're looking for. So adultery takes place when a husband or wife looks for the missing 20%. Let's say your wife is melancholic by nature.

You may find yourself drawn to the pretty clerk who has a cherry laugh no matter what she says: 'I broke my arm yesterday, Hahahaha . . ..'

Or because your wife is a homebody in slippers and pajamas, smelling of garlic and fish oil, you may fall for a fresh-smelling young sales representative that visits your office in a sharp black blazer, high heels, and a red pencil-cut skirt Or because your husband is the quiet
type, your heart may skip a beat when you meet an old college flame who has the makings of a talk show host.

But wait! That's only 20% of what you don't have.

Don't throw away the 80% that you already have!

That's not all. Add to your spouse's 80% the 100% that represents all the years that you have been with each other. The storms you have weathered together. The unforgettable moments of sadness and joy as a couple. The many adjustments you have made to love the other. The wealth of memories that you've accumulated as lovers.

Adultery happens when you start looking for what you don't have.

But faithfulness happens when you start thanking God for what you already have.

But I'm not just talking about marriage.

I'm talking about life!

About your jobs.
About your friends.
About your children.
About your lifestyles.

Are you like the economy airline passenger that perennially peeks through the door of the first class cabin, obsessed with what he's missing? 'They have got more leg room! Oh my, their food is served in porcelain! Wow, their seats recline at an 80% angle and they've got personal videos!'

I guarantee you'll be miserable for the entire trip! Don't live your life like that. Forget about what the world says is first class. Do you know that there are many first class passengers who are miserable in first class -- because they are not riding in a private Lear Jet?

The main message???

If you start appreciating what you have right now, wherever you are, you are first class!

A New GREEN file format: WWF

If you are frequent email user or rely your email during works, you will be seeing some of the sender that quoting a small sentence with a tree logo that asking you to save tree and think first before you print for the email or documents. This is a good reminder for all of us for the unnecessary paper printing.

However, I would like to introduce another good initiative by WWF for "Think before you print". It was saving your documents or files to another format with .wwf extension, with this format, recipients cant print it but only can view it or keep it. You are on your own to decide which documents can print and which documents cannot print.

Want to be cool and showing you care about the planet and support the initiative, download the apps here and start using today. Got question about the WWF format go to FAQ, you will find all the answers.

I already download and use it. What are you waiting for?
